Parsha Sheet Editor (freelance)

Edit and produce our weekly Parsha Sheet — distributed to 25+ synagogues and 1,800+ subscribers.

Freelance Remote ~6 hours a week, deadline-driven Per-issue fee, negotiated

About the role

The Parsha Sheet is one of TAL's longest-running flagship publications. Each week, it goes out in print to over 25 London shuls and digitally to 1,800+ subscribers. We are looking for an experienced editor who can take the rabbi's draft, polish it, lay it out, and ship it on time every week.

What you will do

  • Edit a weekly piece (~600 to 900 words) from our team of contributing rabbis
  • Lay out the sheet in our existing template (InDesign or Canva)
  • Source one photo or illustration that complements the theme
  • Send the final PDF to print + upload the web version by Wednesday evening
  • Maintain an editorial calendar and flag upcoming yom tov pieces

Who we are looking for

  • Strong written English with a sensitive ear for tone
  • Familiarity with traditional Jewish sources and the parsha cycle
  • Working knowledge of InDesign or Canva (we are flexible)
  • Reliable and deadline-driven. The Parsha Sheet has shipped every week for years; you will keep that streak alive.
  • Existing relationships with proofreaders or willingness to build them

What you get

  • A per-issue fee paid monthly
  • Full editorial credit on the sheet
  • Flexibility to work to your own schedule, subject to the weekly deadline
