About the role
Friday-night dinner with a warm family is one of the most meaningful things a Jewish student away from home can experience. TAL matches students with hosts across NW London for Shabbat dinner, and we are always looking for more families to open their tables.
What we ask of hosts
- A traditional Shabbat dinner with zmiros, divrei Torah, and kosher food
- Once a month minimum, more often if you can
- Capacity for one or two students at a time
- Willingness to be in touch by WhatsApp the week of, to confirm details
How matching works
- Tell us your kashrut standard, your typical Friday-night vibe, and how many guests you can host
- We match students based on location, dietary needs, and dynamic
- You and your guests connect directly the week of
- Students RSVP via TAL, so you always know who is coming
Why it matters
For many of our students, your dinner table is the first warm Shabbat experience they have had since leaving home. Hosts tell us the friendships they build often last years. There is no cost to volunteering. Just open your home one Friday a month.
Tell us a little about yourself and your home below. We will be in touch within a week.
