1. About these terms
These are the terms on which we (Torah Action Life, TAL) sell tickets and accept donations through this site. By placing an order or making a donation you accept these terms. Please read them before paying.
2. Who we are
Torah Action Life is a charity registered in England and Wales (charity number 1145908) and a company limited by guarantee (company number 07771068). Our registered office is at 1-4 Belmont Parade, Finchley Road, London NW11 6XP. You can reach us at info@torahactionlife.com or on 020 7952 8693.
3. How payments are taken
All payments (ticket purchases, one-off donations, and recurring donations) are processed by Stripe Payments UK, Ltd. ("Stripe"). When you click "Donate" or "Checkout", you are redirected to Stripe's secure hosted payment page where you enter your card details. We never see or store your card number.
Once Stripe confirms your payment, we receive a notification and we send you an email receipt + (for tickets) your QR-code tickets.
4. Tickets
4.1. What you buy
When you buy a ticket through this site, you buy directly from us. There is no third-party reseller or marketplace. The ticket is a personal, revocable licence to attend the event named on the ticket on the date and at the time stated.
4.2. Delivery
Tickets are delivered electronically immediately after payment. Each attendee receives their own ticket as a PDF + a QR code that we scan at the door. There is no physical ticket and nothing is posted.
4.3. Price + handling fees
The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Stripe deducts a processing fee from each payment that we cover ourselves, so the price you see is the price you pay.
4.4. You must be 18 or older
To place an order you must be at least 18 years old and using a card that you are authorised to use.
5. Refunds and cancellations
5.1. Tickets
Tickets for events are non-refundable as standard. We may grant a refund in extreme and compassionate circumstances, at our discretion. To request a refund, email info@torahactionlife.com with your order number (format TAL-YYMMDD-XXXXXX) within 7 days of the event.
5.2. If we cancel an event
If we cancel an event (not reschedule it), you'll receive a full refund of the ticket price to the same card you paid with, normally within 5 working days.
5.3. If we reschedule an event
If we reschedule, your ticket is automatically valid for the new date. If you can't make the new date, contact us within 14 days of the rescheduling announcement and we'll refund you.
5.4. Donations
One-off donations are not refundable except where we agree in writing that the donation was made in error (e.g. wrong amount, fraudulent transaction). Recurring (monthly / weekly) donations can be cancelled by you at any time from your account dashboard at /account/donations; we cancel future charges immediately and do not refund past charges except where made in error.
6. Attendance at events
You agree to follow any rules of the venue and TAL staff while attending an event. We reserve the right to refuse entry or require a person to leave the event if they:
- Cannot present a valid ticket (QR code on phone or printed) matching the attendee details we hold;
- Are visibly intoxicated, disruptive, or aggressive;
- Breach the venue's terms of admission, age policy, or dress code;
- Attempt to bring prohibited items into the venue.
By attending, you consent to being incidentally captured in photography and video taken for TAL's records, social media, and future marketing. If you'd rather not appear, tell a TAL staff member at the event and we'll do our best to exclude you from published material.
7. Resale
Tickets are non-transferable to a third party for profit. If you can't attend, the ticket can be used by a friend you trust who fits the event's audience. Just send us their first name + email so we can update the attendee record for check-in. Any commercial resale (e.g. on a secondary marketplace) is a breach of these terms and we will refuse entry to the ticket holder.
8. Gift Aid (donations)
When you tick the Gift Aid box during a donation, you confirm you're a UK taxpayer and that you've paid enough income or capital gains tax in the relevant year to cover the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations. We record your declaration with a timestamp + version number. If your tax position changes, please let us know so we can stop claiming. Gift Aid claims are submitted to HMRC under our Charities Online registration.
9. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability to you in respect of any order is capped at the amount you paid for the order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g. travel costs, accommodation, lost wages) arising from a cancelled or rescheduled event.
10. Complaints
If something goes wrong, email info@torahactionlife.com with your order number and a description of the problem. We'll respond within 5 working days and aim to resolve any dispute through good-faith conversation. As a UK charity we are also a member of the Fundraising Regulator; you can contact them at fundraisingregulator.org.uk if you remain unsatisfied.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
